Bluewater Key recognizes and accepts Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Emotional Support Animals pursuant to the laws established in Florida for such animals.

Pursuant to our Declaration; no farm animals, livestock, or poultry of any kind shall be raised, bred, or kept on any Lot, except dogs, cats, or other companion pets, and then only on a leash. (All) companion pets shall be subject to the rules and regulations of the Association…”

Some rental lots are “pet friendly” while others are not.  Please review the site descriptions as to their specific requirements, if applicable.

Only two pets are allowed per reservation.

Due to insurance requirements, Bluewater Key does not accept some dog breeds, as follows:

    • Bull Mastiff
    • Chow
    • Doberman
    • German Shephard
    • Pit Bull
    • Rottweiler

Good behavior is required.  Dogs of any breed or animals that are hostile or aggressive will be asked to leave Bluewater Key, along with their owners.

Bring the leash! Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside their owners’ recreational vehicles. Do not leave a tethered dog unattended at any time.
